Join Our Online Launch Event Monday, June 17th
Come watch our digital launch event, free online and hosted by Burning Books!
This Monday, June 17th at 7pm EST/4pm PST, we will be hosting our first fully open online book event! In partnership with the independent, radical bookseller Burning Books out of Buffalo, New York, we will be discussing some of the issues covered in the book and bringing them into the issues flooding into the headlines over the past several months. Our book, Safety Through Solidarity: A Radical Guide to Fighting Antisemitism (Melville House Books, 2024), rethinks how to fight antisemitism by looking to anti-oppression, antifascist, and intersectional traditions of resistance, and discusses how we can build social movements founded on solidarity as a new model for Jewish safety.
In conversation, both of us will be discussing issues like the growing Palestine solidarity protests, the weaponization of antisemitism accusations, the explosive rise of right-wing antisemitism, the forming “Dissident Right,” and how Jewish communal institutions have handled (or mishandled) these issues. Most importantly, we’ll be taking questions from readers in advance and we will let that drive our discussion. You can leave a comment here, email us at SafetyThroughSolidarity@gmail.com, go into the event’s Facebook Event Page to leave a comment, DM us on Twitter, or even just drop a question in the chat of the Zoom event.
The event is open and free to anyone who wants to come, and we’ll also post a video of it when it’s over. You can use the Zoom link listed below, and you can also RSVP on Facebook. If you have not picked up the book already, consider doing so with Burning Books at their online store (or go in person if you’re in the Buffalo area.
